Why do you need my location?
Great question! Here's the deal...
The "Close" in Good & Close
The whole point of this site is to find you the single best spot that's closest to you. Without knowing where you are, we'd just be guessing. And nobody wants to walk 45 minutes for a coffee when there's a great one around the corner.
What we actually store
When you search, we log the general area you searched from. That's it. Here's what we don't collect:
- ✓Your name or email
- ✓Your device information
- ✓Cookies that track you around the web
- ✓Any personally identifiable information
Why log location at all?
We use anonymized search locations to figure out where we need to discover more spots. If we see lots of searches in a neighborhood where we don't have great recommendations yet, that tells us to get out there and find some! It helps us make the site better for everyone.
You're always in control
Your browser will ask for permission before sharing your location. You can say no! (Though then we can't really help you find nearby spots... kind of defeats the purpose, but we respect the decision!)
